The main disadvantage of Presto cookers is the material they are made from. Fortunately there are alternative cookers which cost a tad more but eliminate consumers main complaint. The stainless steel model remedies the main disadvantage of the presto cooker while still allowing meals to be prepared quickly and easily. Presto cookers are favorite devices in the United States.

The presto cooker has been in use since 1939. Presto was famous for making pressure canners, which were used by hotels and commercial canneries. With this success they started making pressure cookers also. Earlier they used to make cookers made of aluminium only. Its demand and popularity made them make the cooker in stainless steel also.
